I was commissioned by Pastor Evelyn Burris of Williamsville, De.For God's House Ministries. This was painted on a 7.5 X 17.5 wall, and took four days to finish. I thoroughly enjoyed this job.
Before picking up a brush, I sat in various parts of the room, looking at the bare wall that was to be my canvas. When initially approached about the painting, I envisioned portraying celebration and jubilation in the heavenlies -- Good News. I thought of everyone who might look upon this mural, and wanted it to convey its invitation.
In compliance with Pastor Burris' request, the depiction of Jesus reflects an African-American appearance. Here You see The Dove representing the Holy Spirit and Jesus inviting the spectator to draw closer.
Here, the gathered Saints mix humble worship with trumpeted shouts of praise.
